Terms of Use

Last updated: 30 October 2026. These terms apply when you use the DUEL Golf app. Please read them, particularly the sections on scores, prize pots and liability.

Who we are

DUEL Golf is run by Gareth Bufton in Australia ("we", "us"). You can reach us at .

Agreeing to these terms

By using DUEL, or by unlocking Competitor or Admin access, you agree to these terms and to our . If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

You must be at least 13 to use DUEL. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to make a purchase.

What you're buying

Spectator access and Quick Game are free. Competitor and Admin access are one-time purchases made through the App Store, not subscriptions. Prices are shown in the App Store before you pay.

Your purchase is linked to your Apple ID rather than a DUEL account. It lets you use that tier for as long as we offer the app. It doesn't give you ownership of the app or any part of it.

Your consumer rights and refunds

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms removes or limits those rights, or any other right you have by law that can't be excluded. Every other section of these terms should be read with that in mind.

Payments are processed by Apple, so refund requests are made to Apple at . If you have a problem you think Apple can't resolve, email us.

No guarantee of availability

DUEL is provided as it is and as it's available. We work to keep it running well, but we don't guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. It relies on your phone, your internet connection and services run by other companies, any of which can fail, including during a round.

We can change, improve or remove features at any time, and we may need to take the app offline for maintenance. If we ever close DUEL, we'll give you as much notice as we reasonably can.

Scores and event data

Scores, results, photos and other event data can be delayed, wrong or lost, for example because of a poor connection or a technical fault. We don't guarantee that any of it will be kept. If a result matters to you, keep your own record of it.

Scores, handicaps, stats and course details in DUEL are for fun between friends. They aren't an official handicap record or an official competition result. Course information comes from outside sources and may not be accurate.

Prize pots and side bets

DUEL can add up prize pots and side bets for your group. That is only arithmetic. We don't hold, move, collect or pay out money or prizes, and we aren't a party to any bet or arrangement between players.

Anything your group agrees is between you. That includes paying up, settling disputes and following any laws that apply where you are. We aren't responsible for unpaid amounts, disagreements, or results that turn out to be wrong.

What you add to the app

You keep ownership of the names, photos, messages and other content you add. You give us permission to store it, copy it and show it to other people in your event, only as needed to run DUEL.

Only add details or photos of other people if you have their permission. Anyone with an event's code can join and see its information, so only share codes with people you trust.

Don't post anything offensive, abusive, unlawful, or that belongs to someone else. We can remove content or restrict access if we think these terms have been broken.

Using DUEL properly

Please don't copy or resell the app, try to get around purchases, interfere with how it works, or access other people's events or data without permission. We can suspend or block access if you do.

Keep your attention on the course. Please look after yourself and others around you when using your phone during a round.

Our liability

Subject to your rights under "Your consumer rights and refunds", and to the extent the law allows:

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for DUEL, its content, its support, or any claims about it. Your use of the app is also covered by , and your purchases are covered by Apple's own terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or on this website. If you keep using DUEL after a change, the updated terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of New South Wales. If you live in another country, you keep any consumer rights the law there gives you.
